Woolly Bear and his Caterpillar *****************************Hello and Welcome********************************* I have started my new Series...FOREST MADE.... Summer is here and my bear making studio has moved right into the heart of the Lake Superior Forests of Northern Minnesota. We spend our two days off enjoying the great outdoors, my bear making table has turned into a picnic table, and all my bear making goodies have been put into to-go overnight bags- many I might add-. We have a trailer we bought last fall which we leave at Lamb's campground in Schroeder from June through wonderful Fall. I find great inspiration from the forest, after all thats where the bears live! My husband, our bears, and I are only a stones throw from Lake Superior. The next to come from my new Nature Studio is Woolly Bear and his Caterpillar. Woolly Bear is 19 inches tall. He has wonderful green glass eyes that glimmer in the sunlight. He is made with a very fluffy soft brown multi tone, Kid Schulte mohair, how soft he is! I have spent many wonderful hours while listening to the birds sing, my doggies bark, and the waves crash on the shores, needlefelting and then brush-softening his face. I made the claws from clay, and then they were individually sewn on. I hand shaded his face to bring out and intensify his wonderful features. I hand embroidered his nose in a bit of an untraditional way, the top being a bit jagged in design, his mouth is also hand embroidered. He is filled with high quality poly and steel shot for wieght,and is five way jointed with lock nuts and bolts. He has armature in his arms for great poses. His handmade signature Lemon Wolf necklace is surly a masterpiece, complete with a sterling silver Angel charm that opens and contains tiny bug treats for Caterpillar! He is wearing his favorite Nature Crown adorned with Japanese Miracle Beads, with his pick of colors of the rainbow for the attatched veil. He has a wonderful handmade baby hooded sweater, very soft with the cutest buttons, a lady in Tofte ....just up the road from our campsite... hand makes these wonderful sweaters! His bestest friend Caterpillar is included in this adoption. Caterpillar is made from a wonderful black Kid Schulte mohair and a yellow Schulte mohair. He is stuffed with just a little poly fill, and then wire armature, so he can pose and "inch" around. He gas green glass eyes, and a needlefelted face. He is about 9 inches as you see him in the pics.He has a necklace with a bug box also, and a Nature crown. I hope you have enjoy the pictures and happy adopting!
